Monday Freebie!

I would like to share with you an activity that has been a big success in my classroom!

My little ones LOVE to go to the writing centers and practice their writing!!! The best part is that they are practicing their reading too!
The activity consist of three parts. The first part the students need to read the words. Second, they build the word with magnet letters. Last, they write the words with a dry erase marker.

Right now, I just have them read and write their names, because I want them to feel successful. I don't want to add words they don't know yet. But as the year progresses I will add our words walls for practice!
I think this is not just perfect for Kindergarten, it's also great for older grades to practice their spelling words!

Get your  template in English & Spanish {HERE}, print, laminate and paste it on a cookie sheet.
Have fun!

Constitution Week & and Sunday Freebie!

My little ones learned all about the Constitution and the United States flag! After a week practicing the pledge and fun activities, now they can recite the pledge and honor the flag without a problem! ;)
Here are some pics of the week:

We made the flag and use white paint and a cotton swab to make the stars.

We also practiced the pledge by putting it in order.

We made a hat using the flag colors!

We read "We the kids" by  David Catrow and made a commitment to be respectful with each other! ;)

Here is another cute flag activity! Paint your students hand blue and the fingers red and use glitter for the stars! ;)

This weekend is my son's birthday and to celebrate it, I will have these activities for Free all day Sunday, September 21, 2014!
Visit my TPT store and grab your copy {HERE} !
Have fun!

We can write our names!

Last week was all about teaching my kids how to write their names.
Here are some pics of the week:

They identified the first letters in their names.

They also counted the number of letters in their names.

At the end they all shared their books.

You can find this craftivity {HERE}.

During Math we read "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" by Bill Martin, and it was perfect to introduce this skill in English.

By the end of the week in Math we made a graph, and identified which students had the most and least number of letters in their names.

During center time they practice motor skills creating their names with cereal.

They also cut and paste letters to create their names.

Have a fun week!

Our Alphabet!

My second week was great, but I am not going to lie... I am exhausted!!!
The last week in my Kindergarten class, (YES! I am teaching Kinder this year) was all about the alphabet. My class generated their own alphabet, I am very impressed with the final product!

Here are some pics!

My kids are super excited with their alphabet. They can't stop looking at it, which it's a PLUS!!! ;)
I used the letters made by my amazing friend, Amy Lemons! You can find her "Get your Chevron on" Decor HERE!
I made a template for the kids draw their pics and write their words, which you can download for free HERE!
Now I am planning a fun week ahead! It's going to be all about Safety and all about writing our names!!! I will post pics next week!

Have a fun!
