I am so happy!

Thank you so much for all your positive feedback! And THANKS to my wonderful teaching partner Mrs. Lemons for motivating me to do this! It just took her a year to convince me! Ha!

I want to tell you a little more about me. I taught Pre-K for five years, but I switched to second grade three years ago.

I teach Spanish Language Arts, Science and Social Studies in Spanish to 2nd graders. But what make my job the best is that I teach in Spanish to both Spanish and English speakers. It's a challenge for my English students to learn another language, but the key for them is to have FUN while they learn! That it's why I love to create lessons that are hands on and fun.

While I was creating a back to school activity this week, I remembered about my days teaching Pre-K in Dallas so I decided to create something that the little ones as well as my 2nd graders could enjoy!

Check it out! My First Day of School Writing Craftivity K-2nd grade ( English & Spanish). Let me know what you think about it.

Hooray! My first post!!!

Hi, welcome to my new blog. My name is Mynda and I'm from Puerto Rico. I have been a bilingual teacher in Texas for the last 8 years. But this is my first year blogging. Yes, I'm a rookie. But I think you're going to enjoy my blog a lot.
Over the years, I noticed there are not that many bilingual blogs. Everything you find it's in English. But what about Spanish? "Nada". Hopefully, you will find many helpful ideas that you can apply in your classroom.
Please let me know if you're looking for specific activities in Spanish for your bilingual classroom. And I'll try to deliver.
Now you got to be patient with me. I'm still trying to learn everything about blogging. A couple of months ago, I was just a Facebook expert. But this is all brand new for me so be patient. :-)

Here is my first activity: "Back to School; Get to Know your Friends in English and Spanish". Let me know what you think. Thanks, Mynda.
